Deputy Sheriff Charles Edward "Eddie" Baskette Jr. had transfered from the Detention Center where he had been employed as a Corrections Officer to "Patrol". Eddie was in the process of completing an eight week course of training required to serve as a patrol officer and during training at the Greeneville/Greene County Law Enforcement Officers Firing Range he suffered a heart attack and died at the scene. Eddie was 37, married with two children.
